New Peer Mentoring Program in Psychology Department

7 September 2009 1,088 views 2 Comments

The Psychology upper-class majors have been paired with freshmen students to give assistance during this sometimes overwhelming new venture. The mentors will spend time with the new students orientating them to the campus, the Psychology department, activities, and getting them involved. There are times when everyone just needs someone to talk with and to listen; our mentors are good at that. The mentors are also role models for academic and social success, and hopefully inspire the new students to begin their higher education experience in a positive and healthy way. Many thanks go to our volunteer mentors.
